(SEOUL=News1) Reporter Han Song-a — StemExOne, a regenerative medicine company specializing in stem cell- and exosome-based therapies for companion animals, has unveiled a new paradigm for the pet healthcare market. Focusing not merely on extending lifespan but on enabling pets to live healthier lives, the company highlighted the potential of regenerative medicine to become a game changer in companion animal healthcare.
At the 19th Companion Animal IR Day, held on the 27th at the Pangyo Startup Campus in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, StemExOne CEO Ssang-Goo Cho presented the company’s vision and technology.
“The true value lies in improving quality of life by enabling patients to live healthier lives through effective treatment,” Cho said. “Our goal is to extend the healthy lifespan of both people and companion animals through regenerative medicine-based therapies.”
The presentation highlighted StemExOne’s technological competitiveness, focusing on its large-scale exosome production platform built on more than 20 years of stem cell research expertise, as well as clinical validation data demonstrating its therapeutic potential.

StemExOne’s core competitive edge lies in its proprietary “4D blood flow-mimicking dynamic culture platform.” The technology cultures three-dimensional stem cell aggregates under conditions designed to replicate the vascular environment, increasing exosome production by more than 20-fold compared with conventional methods while enhancing the secretion of bioactive components. Its key advantage is the ability to improve both production efficiency and functional potency at the same time.
The company has also integrated a peptide-based ultra-fast production technology, enabling large-scale exosome production within a significantly shorter timeframe. By reducing production time and improving product consistency, StemExOne says the platform also strengthens its competitiveness for commercial-scale manufacturing.

One of StemExOne’s flagship products is VEXOHEAL, a stem cell exosome-based veterinary medical device. The product has received regulatory approval from Korea’s Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency.
VEXOHEAL has shown anti-inflammatory and tissue-regenerative effects in the treatment of skin disorders and wounds, with a growing body of clinical evidence supporting its use. Data from cases involving animals with refractory skin conditions have also demonstrated reductions in inflammation and improvements in tissue recovery.
The product is currently distributed to veterinary clinics nationwide through Yuhan Corporation, alongside the veterinary medical device brand VetEase.
Compared with conventional steroid-based treatments, VEXOHEAL is positioned as having a lower burden of adverse effects. The company also highlights its potential to reduce recurrence by modulating immune responses and improving skin barrier function.
Building on this technology, StemExOne is expanding its business portfolio beyond veterinary medical devices into exosome raw material supply and cosmetic applications.

StemExOne is also making steady progress on the business front. The company has signed a domestic distribution agreement with Yuhan Corporation and an overseas supply agreement with RecensMedical, demonstrating the commercial potential of its technology. It has also strengthened confidence in its platform through approximately KRW 4 billion in cumulative investment and participation in government-funded R&D projects.
Leveraging its large-scale production technology, StemExOne says it can reduce production costs by more than 30% compared with conventional approaches, underscoring the potential to make exosome-based therapies—often regarded as high-cost treatments—more accessible.
The company plans to expand beyond the companion animal market into human therapeutics. Its roadmap includes broadening its veterinary product portfolio and launching products for human use in 2026, followed by plans to advance into clinical development for treatments targeting refractory skin diseases in 2027. In the longer term, StemExOne aims to establish itself as a global platform company specializing in exosome-based therapeutics.
