BioPlus Signs MOU with StemExOne for Joint Development of Advanced Regenerative Medicine Products

Reporter Bae Yo-han — BioPlus announced on the 20th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with StemExOne, a company specializing in stem cell-based therapeutics, for the joint development of advanced regenerative medicine technologies and advanced biopharmaceutical products.
Under the agreement, the two companies plan to strengthen their capabilities in developing stem cell-based therapeutics and work together to secure technological leadership in the next-generation regenerative medicine market.
StemExOne, which has been developing stem cell-derived exosomes and cell-based therapeutics, will focus on advancing its core technologies. BioPlus, meanwhile, plans to leverage StemExOne’s technological capabilities to jointly pursue the development and commercialization of high-functionality stem cell therapeutics.
The companies also plan to collaborate across several areas, including joint research on stem cell-derived therapeutics for refractory diseases, development of cosmetics using stem cell-derived exosomes, and exploration of joint business models for overseas expansion.
A BioPlus official said, “By combining StemExOne’s proprietary technologies with our product development and commercialization capabilities, we expect to generate meaningful results in the field of cell-based biopharmaceuticals. We will focus on securing innovative technologies targeting the global regenerative medicine market.”
A StemExOne official said, “This agreement represents a highly practical step toward technology commercialization. By leveraging the synergy between the two companies, we will accelerate efforts to evaluate early clinical entry and product development opportunities.”
BioPlus also signed a joint research MOU on the 15th with Wellpep, a company specializing in biocompatible peptide development, for the development of synthetic peptide products for cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications.
